Abstract
The search for a democratic education has behind it a long tradition of knowledge and experience that we respect and assume as their own but who wish to contribute with new ideas and experiences. In the development of this experience we have tried to achieve mutual recognition and stimulating approach through collaborative work taking advantage of the difference and enjoying it. Classroom situations and proposed activities have enabled: • Communication and interaction among all / as students / as trying to overcome prejudices and stereotypes. • Attention to diversity and respect for differences, untagged or define anyone under them. • No segregation in separate groups. • Active fight against any manifestation of racism or discrimination. We assume that multiculturalism is an instrument that seeks to ensure minimum starting conditions for people of ethnic minority groups overcome educational disadvantage or social barriers and equality can access from their own difference. Since the development of this experience, we try to build solidarity and participatory manner a socializing and schools open to diversity, based on a pedagogy of encounter, of coexistence and cooperation between different individuals, cultures and sectors. It has been a rewarding experience and students so explicit in the assessment: they recognize they have learned and discovered another way of working from cooperation and peer support.

Educar a la ciudadanía, hoy en día no es atender a una mayoría, sino a todos. Y el reto más actual, estriba en hacerlo desde principios de equidad. Así toma especial interés la idea de que todos tienen derecho a un buen aprendizaje o lo que es lo mismo, alcanzar un justo equilibrio entre equidad y calidad. El conseguir una escuela para todos, no excluyente, es un compromiso universal, si hacemos caso a las declaraciones que al respecto se realizan desde todos los foros internacionales. Y estos principios son los que pretendemos poner en práctica en nuestra tarea docente cotidiana.
