Actualmente, la importancia que se atribuye a la educación, tanto desde la percepción social, grupal o individual, puede estar repercutiendo sobre el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. En esta línea, este estudio se centra en diseñar y validar un instrumento de evaluación del Valor Social Subjetivo de la Educación (VSE-Subjetivo) dentro del marco de referencia del Modelo de Evaluación para la Cohesión Social. A partir de una revisión documental internacional sobre el concepto a nivel evaluativo y una validación cruzada, tanto a nivel estatal (España) como a nivel internacional entre varios países (Argentina, España y República Dominicana), presentamos el constructo teórico y sus cuatro dimensiones (expectativas y metas educativas, justicia social y educación, valor diferencial de la educación y obstáculos y facilitadores); trabajando en la validación de constructo con 306 docentes. Posteriormente, tras realizar una validación de ítems e indicadores mediante comités de 30 expertos/as en medición y evaluación, se desarrolla un ensayo piloto del instrumento de evaluación con 131 estudiantes, 28 docentes y 36 familiares, obteniendo un buen ajuste en todas las audiencias. Asimismo, de manera específica para comprobar las propiedades métricas de la escala con estudiantes, se aplica sobre un grupo de 341 estudiantes de educación secundaria, donde se obtiene un buen funcionamiento tanto en el enfoque TCT (Teoría Clásica del Test) como en TRI (Teoría de Respuesta al Ítem). Finalmente, se realiza un estudio sobre evidencias de validación donde encontramos interesantes líneas de indagación: los niveles de VSESubjetivo entre el alumnado se encuentran asociados a los diferentes niveles de rendimiento académico, los niveles de VSE-Subjetivo no están condicionados por el nivel socio-económico cultural y familiar del alumnado, y existen relaciones significativas entre el VSE-Subjetivo y otros constructos tales como el de Justicia Social, Resiliencia, Autoconcepto, Competencia emocional y Estilos Educativos Familiares. Apostamos por aproximaciones basadas en la complementariedad metodológica cuantitativa/cualitativa para futuras aproximaciones, siendo necesario orientar estudios macro-analíticos basados en indicadores con una perspectiva sistémica, implicando junto a los indicadores educativos y del VSE-Subjetivo otros descriptivos de la estructura económica y cultural de la región en que se realice el estudio.

Nowdays, the importance attributed to education, whether from social, group or individual perception, may be impacting on the teaching-learning process. In this line, this study focuses on designing and validating an instrument for evaluating the Subjective Social Value of Education (VSESubjective) within the frame of reference of the Evaluation Model for Social Cohesion. Based on an international documentary review of the concept at the evaluative level and a cross-validation, both at the state level (Spain) and at the international level between several countries (Argentina, Spain and the Dominican Republic), we present the theoretical construct and its four Dimensions (educational expectations and goals, social justice and education, differential value of education and obstacles and facilitators); working on the validation of construct with 306 teachers. Subsequently, after a validation of items and indicators through committees of 30 experts in measurement and evaluation, a pilot test of the evaluation instrument was developed with 131 students, 28 teachers and 36 relatives, obtaining a good adjustment in all the audiences. Also, specifically to verify the metric properties of the scale with students, it is applied to a group of 341 students of secondary education, where it obtains a good functioning in both the CTT (Classical Test Theory) and IRT (Item Response Theory). Finally, a study is carried out on validation evidences, where we find interesting lines of inquiry: VSE-Subjective levels among students are associated to different levels of academic achievement, VSE-Subjective levels are not conditioned by the socio-level and there are significant relationships between VSE-Subjective and other constructs such as Social Justice, Resilience, Self-Concept, Emotional Competence, and Family Educational Styles. We rely on approximations based on quantitative/qualitative methodological complementarity for future approaches, being necessary to orient macro-analytical studies based on indicators with a systemic perspective, involving along with educational indicators and the VSESubjective, other descriptive of the economic and cultural structure of the region in which the study is conducted.
