From a gender perspective, this research examines the reality of families female-headed single parent based on the pathways and the role of informal solidarity relationships on the processes of social exclusion and integration in the economic sphere, more specifically the labour market and work-family reconciliation. To this end, qualitative research has been conducted. That is in-depth interviews to 19 single-parent mothers living in Valencia. The results show strong evidence of the protective role of informal networks of solidarity against the exclusion or social vulnerability in the dimension analyzed.
